Inquiry

Today for inquiry we tested some of our What Ifs. We asked what if we put a car or marble on grass, concrete,  the turf, carpet, the table. We found out that smoother surfaces makes it goes faster!

Doris and Boris

Today Bronagh told us about Doris and Boris. They fly over from Mt Vic when there is an emergency. Today for writing we imagined what emergency or why they had come to sit on our roof! Come in and read our fabulous stories

Handwriting

Today we used a possum tail shape and ladybird spot to practice our letter j. We have some letter j kings and queens in rimutaka!

Our projected is back and working

Today we used mimio to play a fun cup game. We had to read the words and guess where the minion was hiding

Te reo with paul

On Friday we sang a Maori colours song with Paul. We listened carefully to figure out what colours our rainbow needed to be. Can you remember what red was??

Air

This week's sound is air. How many words do you know hat have the air sound in it??

Counting on

In some of our maths groups this week we are learning to count on. Today we used a number line to count on the next numbers.  We didn't need to start from 1!

E-asstle test

Today we took our very first test! It was very serious. We had to be very quiet so everyone could think.  We had to wrote a story about this statement: is it OK to fight? Most of us said yes and with good reasons too

Life's a motion

Today we had a WOW afternoon. We had WOW moments as we made marbles and cars move. We built ramps and trails that made the cars go fast. We will be learning more about motion as the term goes on

Using our senses to write a story

Today we used our senses to write a story about lemons! We looked at it with our eyes, smelt it with our nose, and then tasted it with our mouths!!!

Creative Critters with egg cartons

Today we used egg cartons to create things. We had beds, caterpillars, jet planes, crowns and animals

Cards and maths

Today for maths we used cards to add! We answered 12 questions. We worked super hard to think how many there were all together

Olympics Day tomorow

Tomorrow we have a school wide Olympics morning. 

In house groups, students will be participating in 4 rotations with 4 different teachers.

Just a quick note to say that if the children wish, they can dress;

- in their house colours

- team shirts (ie if you have a soccer jumper supporting England etc)
