Measurement - volume

We looked at volume. We added dye to different shaped containers and filled them up. The dye was lighter with the higher volume of water. We drew pictures and used the dye to paint them. They are all different shades as they had different volumes of water

Push and pull

Today we looked at measurement. We look Dat how to tell the weight of something by pushing or pulling. We hid objects in boxes and text them to see what was heavy and what was light

Today we used the interactive board to carry out a statistical investigation on our favourite birthday party games. We then made a bar graph to display the data.

Fireman Visit

Today we had a fireman visit us to talk about being firewise. After morning tea we rotated around 3 activities. We had a go with the fireman's hose, went in the truck and looked at the fireman's uniform and how they put it on.

WOW lanterns

For Creative Critters this week we made something that made us say WOW ... a beautiful, colourful lantern

Wonderful World of Words

Well done for dressing up as your favourite book character. We had fun parading around the turf. Well done to Fancy Nancy (a.k.a Quinn) for winning the best dressed year 1.

ow sound

This week we used o-w to make the ow sound. We used our spelling blocks to write down words. Then we put them into a story. Come in and check them out!

Athletics Day

On Friday we had Athletics Day! We decided to stay at school because it looked like it was about to rain. We have 6 rotations where we had to use our running, jumping, dodging and special equipment to play different games. After morning tea we had running races. Well done to everyone that had a go at running! Thanks also to parents for coming to support us!
